Known by many names, it is sometimes called Flying Silks, Aerial Tissue, Aerial Silk, Aerial Chiffon, Aerial Fabric, Aerial Curtain, and Aerial Dance, among others. "Tissu" means "fabric" in French, and is a fitting description for this cirque-inspired dance form because the performers dance on long fabric silks.  Aerial Silks workshops have quickly become one of the most fun and creative workouts for the new generation.  It is the art of suspended dance. We first saw it and were mesmerized by it when we enjoyed certain circus acts or shows in major hot spots such as Las Vegas, NV.  Combining static and dynamic movement this acrobatic performance art captivates participants of all skill levels.

Athletes and artists of many different backgrounds can learn Aerial Tissu. Dancers, gymnasts, acrobats, and even yoga enthusiasts can pick up this skill easily. It requires both strength and style.  But one does not have to be an advanced or gifted athlete to learn this great art.  Children are not only natural at this but they love the sensation of flying they get when participating.

Aerial Silk artists captivate audiences with their powerful climbs, daring drops, and enchanting poses while suspended on dual silks. Aerial tissu acts are often paired with aerial lyra / hoop, aerial straps, aerial bungee, and circus-style contortion or  balancing acts.
